Stream the unveiling and demonstration of BALANCE and how it is designed to help municipalities with their asset management needs and to be compliant with government regulations. BALANCE is a single tool designed to collect and manage data for all municipal asset classes.

Asset Condition

Establish desired condition rating or remaining useful life and risk parameters (Consequence of Failure and Probability of Failure) specific for each asset type. This allows municipalities to customize the system based on internal municipal goals and enables the comparison of assets.

Track lifecycle events based on their condition rating/remaining useful life with their associated cost and an estimate on the updated condition rating/remaining useful life once the activity is completed. This information ties directly into the Smart4CAST module for lifecycle planning & capital investments.

Risk Conditions

Update and customize risk values to match municipal criteria either based on population, demographics, location, etc.

Compare the risk matrix with surrounding municipalities to determine best practice.

Replacement Costs

Store the expenditures related to various activities for documentation and internal validation. This information can be used internally for historical comparison or externally with surrounding municipalities for cost effective financing.

Level of Service Objectives

Track Level of Service targets based on council approval, monitor progress, verify completion, and generate reports to share with municipal stakeholders.

Generate a municipal scorecard. Visualize the current standing of asset categories. Compare the CoF with PoF to establish priority spending.

Drill down to identify individual assets that make up the aggregate BALANCE score.

Compare each assets condition rating against the desired condition rating for its asset category. Visualize and determine which assets require prioritized investment.

BALANCE normalizes PoF (Probability of Failure) Risk Score which allows them to be standardized and compared across all municipal asset classes.

Sort based on asset class or view all assets at once. This offers an unbiased perspective of which assets are of higher priority.

Review the Municipal Risk Heat Map and confirm which assets pose the highest risk to the municipality based on the following factors:

Manage and update risk values for each individual asset. If some are outliers and pose additional risk compared to others (example: a road section is outside of a hospital would result in higher operational and legal risk.)

Department heads can plan out their annual investment strategy for each specific asset. BALANCE compares the condition of the asset to the lifecycle event (Benchmark Module) to determine an effective strategy based on costs and historical data.

For each asset: track invoice information, update annual budget, create a 10 year capital plan, and update condition ratings.
